East Providence Townies (East Providence, RI) fans were thrilled Saturday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Classical Purples (Providence, RI), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Townies face the Lincoln Lions (Lincoln, RI) in a Division 1 challenge, on Tuesday, September 19. East Providence will attempt to better on its 3-0 season record. The Lions enter the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 4-0 league loss to Cumberland (Cumberland, RI).

The Purples now have a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Moses Brown for a Division 1 challenge on Wednesday, September 20. Classical will face a Quakers team coming off a 3-1 league loss to Central (Providence, RI). The Quakers record now stands at 0-2.
