The Akron-Westfield Westerners topped the visiting Woodbury Central Wildcats volleyball team by a score of 2-0 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Westerners now have a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rock Valley for a non-league test on Saturday, September 16. Akron-Westfield will confront a Rockets team coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Unity Christian (Orange City, IA). The Rockets record now stands at 4-2.
The Wildcats (2-9) will now prepare for their test against Kingsley-Pierson (Kingsley, IA). The Panthers enter the Western Valley - North test with a 3-9 record. In their last test, Kingsley-Pierson was knocked off by Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove (Ida Grove, IA), 2-0, in a league test.
