Michigan High School Soccer - Athens nudges Lake Orion
September 16, 2025: Lake Orion, MI 48360 Fans at Tuesday's non-league battle between the Athens Red Hawks (Troy, MI) and the host Lake Orion Dragons (Lake Orion, MI), saw Athens's soccer squad hold off Lake Orion by a count of 1-0.
The Red Hawks (6-2) will now prepare for their battle against Western International (Detroit, MI). The Cowboys enter the non-league battle with a 4-2 record. In their last battle, Western International tipped Fordson (Dearborn, MI), 3-1, in a non-league battle.
In their next game, the Dragons meet the De La Salle Collegiate Pilots (Warren, MI) in a non-league match, on Thursday, September 18. Lake Orion will attempt to move on its 5-3 season record. The Pilots come into the match with a 11-3 record after their 3-0 league win over Brother Rice (Bloomfield Hills, MI).
