Georgia High School Softball - Appling County bounces Wheeler County
September 16, 2025: Baxley, GA 31513 The Appling County Pirates softball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Wheeler County Bulldogs to 3 in the Pirates non-league win on Tuesday.
The Pirates now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pierce County for a 2A Region 3 battle on Thursday, September 18. Appling County will confront a Bears team coming off a 12-0 league win over Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA). The Bears record now stands at 13-7.
With the loss, Wheeler County moves to 13-6 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Hawkinsville (Hawkinsville, GA) to meet the Red Devils in a 1A D-II Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, September 23. The Red Devils go into the challenge with a record of 2-13. Hawkinsville lost 8-0 in their recent league challenge against Telfair County (McRae, GA)
