September 16, 2025: Murphy, NC 28906 The Murphy Bulldogs volleyball squad (Murphy, NC), was knocked off 3-0 in Tuesday's league contest with the visiting Hayesville Yellowjackets (Hayesville, NC)
The Yellowjackets (12-2) will now prepare for their contest against Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Maroon Devils enter the Smoky Mountain 1A/2A contest with a 7-6 record. In their last contest, Swain County notched a victory over Highlands (Highlands, NC), 3-2, in a non-league contest.
Next, the Bulldogs battle the Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A/2A contest, on Thursday, September 18. Murphy will attempt to move on its 5-5 season record. The Braves enter the battle with a 12-6 record after their 3-0 league win over Andrews (Andrews, NC).
