New Mexico High School Football - Volcano Vista sneaks past Sandia
September 17, 2025: Albuquerque, NM 87114 In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Volcano Vista Hawks football team scored a tight 18-14 win over the Sandia Matadors.
In their next game, the Hawks play the Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 23. Volcano Vista will attempt to improve on its 3-1 season record. The Cougars go into the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 14-0 non-league loss to West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM).
The Matadors (1-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM). The Golden Eagles come into the non-league test with a 2-1 record. In their last test, Eldorado tipped Manzano (Albuquerque, NM), 28-20, in a non-league test.
