Maine High School Soccer - Massabesic held off by Thornton Academy
September 17, 2025: Waterboro, ME 04087 The Thornton Academy Trojans edged the host Massabesic Mustangs soccer team by a tally of 1-0 in Wednesday's league game.
Next, the Trojans face the Biddeford Tigers (Biddeford, ME) in a Class A - South game, on Friday, September 19. Thornton Academy will attempt to advance on its 1-0 season record. The Tigers enter the game with a 0-3 record after their 4-0 league loss to Westbrook (Westbrook, ME).
The Mustangs (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Cheverus (Portland, ME). The Stags enter the Class A - South game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, Cheverus nudged Sanford (Sanford, ME), 2-0, in a league challenge.
