The Independence Patriots volleyball squad (Charlotte, NC), dropped 3-1 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC)

With the win, South Mecklenburg improves its record to 8-7 on the season. The Sabres travel to Palisades (Charlotte, NC) to battle the Pumas in a non-league contest on Thursday, September 18. The Pumas enter the contest with a record of 9-7. Palisades won 3-1 in their recent non-league contest against Hopewell (Huntersville, NC)

Next, the Patriots battle the West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC) in a Meck Power Six 7A/8A contest, on Thursday, September 25. Independence will attempt to move on its 7-4 season record. The Lions enter the contest with a 6-5 record after their 3-0 non-league win over West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC).
