In Thursday's league challenge, the host Avondale Yellowjackets volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Royal Oak Ravens.

The Yellowjackets (7-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Pontiac (Pontiac, MI). The Phoenix enter the non-league challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, Pontiac got by University (Ferndale, MI), 3-0, in a non-league test.

The Ravens now own a 1-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Walled Lake Western for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 23. Royal Oak will face a Warriors squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to South Lyon (South Lyon, MI). The Warriors record now stands at 2-11.
