In Friday's non-league outing, the Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS) football squad tipped the visiting Alcorn Central Bears (Glen, MS), by a margin of 20-14.

The Wildcats now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Myrtle for a non-league outing on Friday, September 26. Walnut will clash with a Hawks squad coming off a 18-15 non-league win over Vardaman (Vardaman, MS). The Hawks record now stands at 3-1.
