The Genoa Area Comets got by the visiting Maumee Panthers football squad by a margin of 27-23 in Friday's league test.

The Comets now sport a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host Oak Harbor for a Northern Buckeye test on Friday, September 26. Genoa Area will meet a Rockets squad coming off a 36-14 league win over Otsego (Tontogany, OH). The Rockets record now stands at 5-0.

With the defeat, Maumee drops to 2-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Rossford (Rossford, OH) to meet the Bulldogs in a Northern Buckeye test on Friday, September 26. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 2-3. Rossford lost 35-7 in their recent league challenge against Lake (Millbury, OH)
