The Wharton Tigers walloped the visiting Hempstead Bobcats football team by a score of 45-9 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Tigers face the Columbia Roughnecks (West Columbia, TX) in a 4A-2 Region III District 10 test, on Friday, September 26. Wharton will attempt to move on its 3-1 season record. The Roughnecks come into the test with a 1-3 record after their 23-21 non-league loss to Yoakum (Yoakum, TX).

With the defeat, Hempstead drops to 1-3 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Thorndale (Thorndale, TX) to meet the Bulldogs in a non-league test on Friday, September 26.
