Valley View Cougars (Archbald, PA) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they observed their football squad smash the host Honesdale Hornets (Honesdale, PA), 49-8 in a non-league match.

The Cougars (3-2) will now prepare for their match against Scranton (Scranton, PA). The Knights come into the Lackawanna 1 match with a 2-3 record. In their last match, Scranton was routed by Scranton Prep (Scranton, PA), 42-14, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Hornets meet the Western Wayne Wildcats (Lake Ariel, PA) in a Lackawanna 2 challenge, on Friday, September 26. Honesdale will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Wildcats go into the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 21-14 non-league win over Old Forge (Old Forge, PA).
