In Friday's non-league game, the Hozho Academy Wolves (Gallup, NM) football team edged the visiting Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes (Pojoaque, NM), by a tally of 21-14.

Next, the Wolves clash with the Cuba Rams (Cuba, NM) in a 2A District 1 outing, on Saturday, September 27. Hozho Academy will attempt to move on its 3-2 season record. The Rams come into the outing with a 0-5 record after their 40-0 non-league loss to Tucumcari (Tucumcari, NM).

With the defeat, Pojoaque Valley drops to 2-2 on the year. The Elks/elkettes host Robertson (Las Vegas, NM) to battle the Cardinals in a 3A District 2 contest on Friday, October 3. The Cardinals enter the contest with a record of 4-1.
