The Palisades Pumas football team (Charlotte, NC), was tipped 27-20 in Friday's non-league bout with the visiting Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC)

With the win, Independence advances its record to 4-1 on the year. The Patriots travel to West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC) to battle the Lions in a Meck Power Six 7A/8A contest on Friday, October 3. The Lions enter the contest with a record of 3-2.

Coming up next, the Pumas battle the Ardrey Kell Knights (Charlotte, NC) in a Southwestern 7A/8A bout, on Friday, October 3. Palisades will attempt to advance on its 3-2 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 16-13 non-league win over Chambers (Charlotte, NC).
