John Paul II Centurions (Corpus Christi, TX) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Somerset Academy Collegiate Bears (San Antonio, TX), 61-50 in a non-league battle.

With the win, John Paul II improves its record to 1-3 on the season. The Centurions host Incarnate Word Academy (Corpus Christi, TX) to meet the Angels in a non-league test on Thursday, September 25. The Angels come into the test with a record of 3-1. Incarnate Word Academy won 56-6 in their recent non-league test against Bruni (Bruni, TX)

With the defeat, Somerset Academy Collegiate drops to 1-3 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Sabinal (Sabinal, TX) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Friday, September 26. The Yellowjackets go into the challenge with a record of 1-3. Sabinal lost 61-14 in their recent non-league challenge against George West (George West, TX)
