The Yates Lions walloped the host Wheatley Wildcats football team by a score of 49-7 in Friday's league test.

The Lions now hold a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they host Worthing for a 4A-1 Region III District 11 test on Saturday, September 27. Yates will meet a Colts squad coming off a 41-7 league loss to North Forest (Houston, TX). The Colts record now stands at 1-3.

With the defeat, Wheatley drops to 0-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Northside (Houston, TX) to face the Panthers in a 4A-1 Region III District 11 challenge on Thursday, September 25. The Panthers go into the challenge with a record of 1-2. Northside lost 34-12 in their recent league challenge against Scarborough (Houston, TX)
