Fans at Friday's non-league contest between the Red Mountain Mountain Lions (Mesa, AZ) and the host Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets (Lakeside, AZ), witnessed Red Mountain's volleyball team overcome Blue Ridge by a tally of 2-0.

The Mountain Lions (8-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Thatcher (Thatcher, AZ). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 4-6 record. In their last challenge, Thatcher was beaten by Payson (Payson, AZ), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Yellow Jackets meet the Window Rock Fighting Scouts (Fort Defiance, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 23. Blue Ridge will attempt to advance on its 4-8 season record. The Fighting Scouts go into the test with a 10-2 record after their 3-2 league win over Chinle (Chinle, AZ).
