In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Connally Cadets volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Marlin Bulldogs.

The Cadets (11-16) will now prepare for their challenge against China Spring (China Spring, TX). The Cougars come into the 4A Region III District 23 challenge with a 16-13 record. In their last test, China Spring went down by Lake Belton (Temple, TX), 3-1, in a non-league test.

The Bulldogs now sport a 13-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bremond for a 2A Region II District 16 test on Friday, September 26.
