The Weslaco Panthers (Weslaco, TX) football edged the host Harlingen South Hawks (Harlingen, TX), 24-20 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Panthers face the Edinburg Bobcats (Edinburg, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, September 8. Weslaco will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record. The Bobcats enter the bout with a 1-1 record after their 55-13 non-league loss to Vela (Edinburg, TX).
