In Friday's non-league match, the host South Pointe Stallions football squad scored a close 16-13 victory over the Mallard Creek Mavericks.

In their next game, the Stallions clash with the Chester Cyclones (Chester, SC) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 9. South Pointe will attempt to move on its 3-0 season record. The Cyclones enter the match with a 2-1 record after their 34-32 non-league win over Fairfield Central (Winnsboro, SC).

The Mavericks (1-2) will now prepare for their match against Gaffney (Gaffney, SC). The Indians enter the non-league match with a 1-1 record. In their last match, Gaffney held off Hammond (Columbia, SC), 14-7, in a non-league match.
