In Friday's non-league match, the host Mayfield Cardinals football squad scored a close 16-14 victory over the Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado.

In their next game, the Cardinals clash with the McCracken County Mustangs (Paducah, KY) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 9. Mayfield will attempt to move on its 3-0 season record. The Mustangs enter the match with a 0-3 record after their 38-12 non-league loss to Graves County (Mayfield, KY).

The Blue Tornado (2-1) will now prepare for their match against South Warren (Bowling Green, KY). The Spartans enter the non-league match with a 1-1 record.
