In Friday's non-league match, the host Northern Patriots football squad scored a close 20-13 victory over the Patuxent Panthers.

In their next game, the Patriots clash with the Chopticon Braves (Morganza, MD) in a Southern Maryland - Chesapeake match, on Friday, September 9. Northern will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Braves enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 14-2 non-league loss to Lackey (Indian Head, MD).
