South Dakota High School Soccer - Riggs held off by Spearfish
September 2, 2023: Spearfish, SD 57783 The crowd at Saturday's league test between the Spearfish Spartans (Spearfish, SD) and the visiting Riggs Governors (Pierre, SD), saw Spearfish's soccer squad get by Riggs by a count of 1-0.
The Spartans now hold a 4-2 record. They play next when they travel to Belle Fourche for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 5. Spearfish will meet a Broncs squad coming off a 7-0 league loss to Dakota Valley (North Sioux City, SD). The Broncs record now stands at 1-6.
With the loss, Riggs drops to 4-1 on the season. The Governors host Harrisburg (Harrisburg, SD) to meet the Tigers in a Class AA test on Thursday, September 7. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 5-1. Harrisburg won 9-0 in their recent league test against Watertown (Watertown, SD)
