Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Gering Bulldogs (Gering, NE) and the host Morrill Lions (Morrill, NE), observed Gering's volleyball team top Morrill by a score of 3-0.

With the win, Gering improves its record to 7-1 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Bridgeport (Bridgeport, NE) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league test on Thursday, September 4. The Bulldogs go into the test with a record of 2-0. Bridgeport won 3-2 in their recent non-league test against Gordon-Rushville (Gordon, NE)

The Lions now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bayard for a non-league test on Thursday, September 4. Morrill will face a Tigers squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Creek Valley (Chappell, NE). The Tigers record now stands at 1-1.

I thought we played really well for this being our first game of the season. Gering had already play 7 games coming into this one, so believe we competed well. There are definitely things to work on, but this gives us a great idea of where our focus needs to be. Gering is a solid volleyball team and to open our season with them was a great matchup. We look forward to hosting Bayard on Thursday.
