September 2, 2025: Summersville, WV 26651 The Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV) volleyball held off the host Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV), 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league bout.
The Patriots now possess a 3-4 record. They play next when they travel to Mount Hope Christian Academy for a non-league bout on Friday, September 5. Independence will clash with a Warriors team coming off a 3-0 league win over Victory Baptist Academy (Beaver, WV). The Warriors record now stands at 3-1.
The Grizzlies (1-7) will now prepare for their match against Oak Hill (Oak Hill, WV). The Red Devils enter the Mountain State match with a 8-5 record. In their last match, Oak Hill held off Princeton (Princeton, WV), 3-1, in a league match.
