Iowa High School Football - Johnston tops Ankeny
September 20, 2024: Johnston, IA 50131 The Johnston Dragons football squad scored 24 points and limited the visiting Ankeny Hawks to 7 in the Dragons non-league triumph on Friday.
The Dragons now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Waukee for a 5A Group 2 test on Friday, September 27. Johnston will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 42-25 non-league loss to Valley (West Des Moines, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 3-1.
With the defeat, Ankeny drops to 1-3 on the campaign. The Hawks host Prairie (Cedar Rapids, IA) to meet the Hawks in a 5A Group 6 test on Friday, October 4. The Hawks come into the test with a record of 2-2.
