September 20, 2024: Hillsville, VA 24343 The George Wythe Maroons football squad scored 42 points and limited the host Carroll County Cavaliers to 7 in the Maroons non-league triumph on Friday.
The Maroons now hold a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rural Retreat for a non-league test on Friday, September 27. George Wythe will meet a Indians squad coming off a 29-12 non-league loss to Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Indians record now stands at 2-1.
With the defeat, Carroll County drops to 3-1 on the campaign. The Cavaliers travel to Patrick County (Stuart, VA) to meet the Cougars in a Three Rivers test on Friday, September 27. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 3-1. Patrick County won 34-21 in their recent non-league test against Chatham (Chatham, VA)
