Portage Central Mustangs (Portage, MI) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Central Bearcats (Battle Creek, MI), 38-6 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Portage Central advances its record to 2-2 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Mattawan (Mattawan, MI) to play the Wildcats in a Southwestern Michigan - West battle on Friday, September 27. The Wildcats go into the battle with a record of 2-2. Mattawan won 51-22 in their recent non-league battle against Norrix (Kalamazoo, MI)

The Bearcats now own a 0-4 record. They play next when they host Norrix for a Southwestern Michigan - East battle on Friday, September 27. Central will play a Knights team coming off a 51-22 non-league loss to Mattawan (Mattawan, MI). The Knights record now stands at 2-2.
