The South Laurel Cardinals were victorious over the visiting Estill County Engineers football team by a score of 41-14 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cardinals face the Pulaski County Maroons (Somerset, KY) in a 5A District 8 challenge, on Friday, September 27. South Laurel will attempt to improve on its 3-1 season record. The Maroons enter the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 31-22 non-league loss to Woodford County (Versailles, KY).

The Engineers (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Lawrence County (Louisa, KY). The Bulldogs enter the 3A District 8 challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Lawrence County ran past Harlan County (Harlan, KY), 35-7, in a non-league challenge.
