September 20, 2024: Independence, KS 67301 Fort Scott Tigers (Fort Scott, KS) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Independence Bulldogs (Independence, KS), 36-8 in a league battle.
With the win, Fort Scott advances its record to 3-0 on the season. The Tigers host Pittsburg (Pittsburg, KS) to play the Dragons in a non-league battle on Friday, September 27. The Dragons go into the battle with a record of 2-1. Pittsburg won 55-21 in their recent league battle against Labette County (Altamont, KS)
The Bulldogs now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they host Field Kindley for a Southeast Kansas battle on Friday, September 27. Independence will play a Golden Tornado team coming off a 30-20 non-league win over Emporia (Emporia, KS). The Golden Tornado record now stands at 1-2.
