September 20, 2024: Huntington, TX 75949 The New Waverly Bulldogs football squad scored 40 points and limited the host Huntington Red Devils to 8 in the Bulldogs non-league triumph on Friday.
The Bulldogs now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Warren for a 3A-2 Region III District 12 test on Friday, September 27. New Waverly will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 40-0 non-league loss to Kirbyville (Kirbyville, TX). The Warriors record now stands at 1-3.
With the defeat, Huntington drops to 0-4 on the campaign. The Red devils travel to San Augustine (San Augustine, TX) to meet the Wolves in a non-league test on Friday, September 27. The Wolves come into the test with a record of 2-2. San Augustine won 28-26 in their recent non-league test against West Sabine (Pineland, TX)
