Illinois High School Football - Oregon thwarted by Winnebago
September 20, 2024: Oregon, IL 61061 Winnebago Indians (Winnebago, IL) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Oregon Hawks (Oregon, IL), 36-14 in a league battle.
With the win, Winnebago improves its record to 1-2 on the season. The Indians travel to Genoa-Kingston (Genoa, IL) to play the Cogs in a Big Northern battle on Friday, September 27. The Cogs go into the battle with a record of 2-2. Genoa-Kingston lost 40-7 in their recent league battle against Dixon (Dixon, IL)
The Hawks now have a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Byron for a Big Northern battle on Friday, September 27. Oregon will play a Tigers team coming off a 71-6 league win over North Boone (Poplar Grove, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 4-0.
