New York High School Soccer - Newburgh Free Academy knocks off Albany
September 20, 2025: Newburgh, NY 12550 Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks (Newburgh, NY) and the visiting Albany Falcons (Albany, NY), saw Newburgh Free Academy's soccer squad prevail over Albany by a count of 4-0.
The Goldbacks (5-0) will now prepare for their battle against Cornwall Central (New Windsor, NY). The Dragons enter the non-league battle with a 6-0 record. In their last battle, Cornwall Central tipped Minisink Valley (Slate Hill, NY), 12-1, in a league battle.
Next up, the Falcons meet the Shenendehowa Plainsmen (Clifton Park, NY) in a non-league match, on Thursday, September 25. Albany will attempt to move on its 1-4 season record. The Plainsmen come into the match with a 3-2 record after their 1-0 league win over Niskayuna (Niskayuna, NY).
