September 21, 2024: Mt. Vernon, IA 52314 Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Murray Mustangs (Murray, IA), 2-0 in a non-league test.
With the win, Mt. Vernon improves its record to 21-2 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Tri-Center (Neola, IA) to face the Trojans in a test on Saturday, September 21. The Trojans go into the test with a record of 7-7. Tri-Center won 3-0 in their recent league test against Underwood (Underwood, IA)
The Mustangs now own a 2-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Melcher-Dallas for a test on Tuesday, September 24. Murray will face a Saints squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Moravia (Moravia, IA). The Saints record now stands at 3-1.
