Game Story

Texas High School Football - Sharyland drops to Mercedes

September 22, 2022: Mission, TX 78572

In Thursday's non-league game, the Mercedes Tigers (Mercedes, TX) football team knocked off the host Sharyland Rattlers (Mission, TX), by a final score of 48-25.

The Tigers (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Valley View (Pharr, TX). The Tigers come into the 5A-2 Region IV District 15 game with a 0-5 record. In their last game, Valley View was dropped by Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX), 29-10, in a non-league game.

The Rattlers now hold a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Roma for a 5A-2 Region IV District 16 game on Friday, October 7. Sharyland will battle a Gladiators team coming off a 43-21 non-league win over Porter (Brownsville, TX). The Gladiators record now stands at 3-2.
