The Pioneer Diamondbacks held off the host Alexander Bulldogs football team by a count of 46-40 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Pioneer upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Diamondbacks host Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX) to encounter the Patriots in a 5A-2 Region IV District 16 outing on Friday, October 6. The Patriots go into the outing with a record of 2-3. Mission Veterans Memorial won 49-19 in their recent non-league outing against Hanna (Brownsville, TX)

With the loss, Alexander moves to 2-3 on the season. The Bulldogs host Eagle Pass (Eagle Pass, TX) to encounter the Eagles in a 6A Region IV District 30 outing on Thursday, October 5. The Eagles go into the outing with a record of 4-1. Eagle Pass won 40-32 in their recent non-league outing against San Marcos (San Marcos, TX)
