The Fordyce Redbugs (Fordyce, AR) football edged the visiting Barton Bears (Lexa, AR), 29-28 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Redbugs face the Drew Central Pirates (Monticello, AR) in a 3A Region 6 bout, on Friday, September 29. Fordyce will attempt to move on its 2-3 season record. The Pirates enter the bout with a 1-4 record after their 46-12 league loss to Harmony Grove (Camden, AR).

The Bears (2-3) will now prepare for their bout against Lakeside (Lake Village, AR). The Beavers enter the 3A Region 6 bout with a 2-2 record. In their last bout, Lakeside nudged Leland (Leland, MS), 42-14, in a non-league bout.
