The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Pierce County Bears (Blackshear, GA) and the host Brantley County Herons (Nahunta, GA), observed Pierce County's football squad bounce Brantley County by a count of 56-6.

The Bears now own a 5-0 record. They play next when they host Appling County for a AA Region 3 contest on Friday, September 29. Pierce County will play a Pirates squad coming off a 40-6 non-league win over Moore Haven (Moore Haven, FL). The Pirates record now stands at 3-1.

Coming up next, the Herons play the Toombs County Bulldogs (Lyons, GA) in a AA Region 3 contest, on Friday, September 29. Brantley County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 5-0 record after their 35-0 league win over Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA).
