September 22, 2023: Stanton, KY 40380 Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team rout the visiting Fairview Eagles (Ashland, KY), 59-16 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Powell County improves its record to 1-5 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Magoffin County (Salyersville, KY) to battle the Hornets in a 3A District 8 test on Friday, September 29. The Hornets come into the test with a record of 1-5. Magoffin County lost 42-12 in their recent league test against Belfry (Belfry, KY)
With the loss, Fairview drops to 1-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Nicholas County (Carlisle, KY) to battle the Bluejackets in a 1A District 6 test on Friday, September 29. The Bluejackets come into the test with a record of 2-4. Nicholas County lost 47-2 in their recent non-league test against Sayre (Lexington, KY)
