New York High School Football - St. Anthony's topples Iona Prep

The St. Anthony's Friars (Melville, NY) football defeated the visiting Iona Prep Gaels (New Rochelle, NY), 44-24 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Friars face the Chaminade Flyers (Mineola, NY) in a Catholic AAA bout, on Saturday, September 30. St. Anthony's will attempt to advance on its 3-1 season record. The Flyers enter the bout with a 0-3 record after their 34-7 non-league loss to St. John the Baptist (West Islip, NY).

The Gaels (2-2) will now prepare for their bout against Monsignor Farrell (Staten Island, NY). The Lions enter the Catholic AAA bout with a 3-1 record. In their last bout, Monsignor Farrell defeated Moore Catholic (Staten Island, NY), 13-10, in a non-league bout.
