The Myers Park Mustangs edged the host Marvin Ridge Mavericks soccer team by a tally of 2-1 in Monday's non-league contest.

Next, the Mustangs face the South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) in a Greater Charlotte 7A/8A contest, on Friday, September 26. Myers Park will attempt to advance on its 9-1 season record. The Sabres enter the contest with a 8-3 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC).

With the loss, Marvin Ridge moves to 8-2 on the year. The Mavericks travel to Weddington (Matthews, NC) to encounter the Warriors in a Southern Carolina 6A/7A challenge on Wednesday, September 24.
