The Leake Central Gators football team (Carthage, MS), was knocked off 49-28 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Velma Jackson Falcons (Camden, MS)

The Falcons (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Pelahatchie (Pelahatchie, MS). The Chiefs come into the 2A Region 6 challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, Pelahatchie was knocked off by Morton (Morton, MS), 41-6, in a non-league challenge.

The Gators now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host West Lauderdale for a 4A Region 4 challenge on Friday, September 30. Leake Central will meet a Knights team coming off a 58-21 non-league win over Philadelphia (Philadelphia, MS). The Knights record now stands at 5-0.
