September 23, 2022: Vanceburg, KY 41179 The Lewis County Lions (Vanceburg, KY) football edged the visiting Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY), 34-29 in Friday's league bout.
In their next game, the Lions face the Pendleton County Wildcats (Falmouth, KY) in a 3A District 6 bout, on Friday, September 30. Lewis County will attempt to advance on its 3-2 season record. The Wildcats enter the bout with a 0-8 record after their 49-12 league loss to Mason County (Maysville, KY).
The Pirates (1-4) will now prepare for their bout against Fleming County (Flemingsburg, KY). The Panthers enter the 3A District 6 bout with a 2-3 record. In their last bout, Fleming County was nudged by East Carter (Grayson, KY), 39-14, in a non-league bout.
