In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Tahoka Bulldogs football squad scored a close 22-17 victory over the Ropes Eagles.

In their next game, the Bulldogs clash with the New Deal Lions (New Deal, TX) in a 2A-1 Region I District 2 match, on Friday, October 7. Tahoka will attempt to move on its 3-2 season record. The Lions enter the match with a 2-3 record after their 27-12 non-league win over Vega (Vega, TX).

The Eagles (1-4) will now prepare for their match against Smyer (Smyer, TX). The Bobcats enter the 2A-2 Region I District 4 match with a 1-4 record. In their last match, Smyer was nudged by Cross Plains (Cross Plains, TX), 45-20, in a non-league match.
