New Mexico High School Soccer - Las Cruces held off by La Cueva
September 23, 2023: Las Cruces, NM 88001 The La Cueva Bears held off the host Las Cruces Bulldawgs soccer squad by a margin of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league match.
The Bears now sport a 9-0 record. They play next when they travel to West Mesa for a 5A District 2 match on Tuesday, September 26. La Cueva will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 8-0 non-league loss to Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM). The Mustangs record now stands at 2-8.
With the loss, Las Cruces drops to 4-5 on the season. The Bulldawgs host Mayfield (Las Cruces, NM) to encounter the Trojans in a 5A District 3 match on Tuesday, September 26. The Trojans come into the match with a record of 7-3. Mayfield won 3-0 in their recent non-league match against Carlsbad (Carlsbad, NM)
