The Permian Panthers football team (Odessa, TX), was beaten 42-21 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Abilene Eagles (Abilene, TX)

The Eagles (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Midland Legacy (Midland, TX). The Rebels come into the 6A Region I District 2 challenge with a 2-2 record. In their last challenge, Midland Legacy achieved victory over Bowie (Arlington, TX), 29-0, in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Frenship for a 6A Region I District 2 challenge on Friday, October 1. Permian will meet a Tigers team coming off a 49-32 league win over San Angelo Central (San Angelo, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 4-1.
