In Thursday's non-league outing, the Lafayette Fighting Irish (St. Joseph, MO) softball team routed the host Falls City Tigers (Falls City, NE), by a margin of 15-4.

The Fighting Irish now sport a 1-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Stanberry for a non-league outing on Monday, October 6.

With the loss, Falls City drops to 1-16 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Freeman (Adams, NE) to clash with the Falcons in a non-league test on Saturday, September 27. The Falcons go into the test with a record of 15-10. Freeman won 5-4 in their recent non-league test against Douglas County West (Valley, NE)
