The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL) and the visiting Newton Eagles (Newton, IL), witnessed Richland County's football squad topple Newton by a count of 56-35.

The Tigers (5-0) will now prepare for their contest against Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL). The Golden Aces enter the Little Illini contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Mt. Carmel thwarted Paris (Paris, IL), 34-27, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Eagles confront the Paris Tigers (Paris, IL) in a Little Illini contest, on Friday, October 4. Newton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Tigers enter the contest with a 2-3 record after their 34-27 league loss to Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL).
