Illinois High School Soccer - Mattoon knocks off Charleston
September 26, 2024: Charleston, IL 61920 Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL) and the host Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL), saw Mattoon's soccer squad triumph over Charleston by a count of 7-0.
The Greenwave (7-4) will now prepare for their battle against Altamont (Altamont, IL). The Indians enter the non-league battle with a 7-5 record. In their last battle, Altamont tipped Robinson (Robinson, IL), 7-0, in a non-league battle.
Next up, the Trojans battle the Robinson Maroons (Robinson, IL) in a non-league battle, on Wednesday, October 2. Charleston will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Maroons enter the battle with a 0-9 record after their 7-0 non-league loss to Altamont (Altamont, IL).
